Our guy OBL
OBL is dead... and right now all I really feel is so what. People were jumping up and down chanting USA USA, some broke into song.. most everyone seemed to be laughing or smiling. Don't get me wrong, I was pleased as well when I heard the news and I'm still pleased. But people seem to have such short memories, that or they choose to ignore aspects of reality to better reinforce a reality they deem more palatable. So yay!! we got OBL!!! The man who has brought death and destruction around the world to one degree or another. Nevermind it took us 10 years, and nevermind he was our guy for a large chunk of his life (and that the death and destruction was cool when he was doing it for us) and that we hold some level of responsibility for making him who he became.. none of that matters. We can feel good again for a bit. I only meant this with half sarcasm.

And on a more personal note... I can honestly say that there's a part of me, the weak part.. that in some ways wishes I was still back on the right of the isle with an R next to my name. It was far easier thinking the left was the danger for this country than what I've seen and learned since the veil has been lifted from my eyes. For that, I'm not sure whether I want to say thank you or F*** you for helping me awake, but either way, I do love you guys.

Sorry if this makes little sense, but I'm feeling very down about things... how do you correct a problem that you as a society created but which many are in denial about and those in power are held up by strings? It's bed time.

1. Things are not often black or white, good or bad, etc etc. I know what you mean, it can be easier to
not have to think or consider but just to Believe, whether politically or spiritually or whateverlly. Things are a mess and having Osama dead does not make things better except in minor ways. There is still a shitload of trouble and work to do and a lot of bipartisanismness to deal with.

"We", meaning the politicians and war mongers of a certain group in this country did indeed support Osama, train him, fund him, give him weapons. And for that they should be ashamed. However, I do not see myself as part of that "we" since I did not vote for or give any support to them.

It is odd how those in the Executive Branch change so often and how different their policies can be. It is balanced out a little by the other 2 branches but too often everything rules for power and money and not the people.

Hope you have a good night's rest. Tomorrow is another day.
