How to make an old veteran laugh till it hurts
Today I had to go to the VA hospital for a follow-up exam, and when I got there the flag was flying at half-staff. Turns out it was for a Washington National Guardsman who was killed in Afghanistan.

So I asked the veteran at the help desk, "when they shot bin Laden one of you guys went outside and welded another ten feet onto the flagpole, right?"
