Republicans want it both ways
Ever since Bin Laden was killed, they have lined up at microphones & cameras, all taking turns reminding us all that it's mostly because of the 7 years that Bush pursued (hah!) bin Laden.. and that because of the groundwork they laid, bin Laden was found by a "lucky" Obama, who benefited from all that came before.

They are totally unwilling to admit that Obama acted boldly and intelligently, where they had careened wildly and unsuccessfully, before pretending that they didn't even care if bin laden was apprehended.

They carefully lay out the importance of Bush's 7 years of preparation and how it's vitally responsible for what happened last weekend... it laid the all important foundation that Obama built upon..

and yet....

the financial debacle they created, never happened, and all our financial problems began on Jan 21, 2009, and BushCo had nothing at all to do with any of it..

3. Aren't they ignoring the fact that OBL was under *'s nose up until the time Obama took
The Oath of Office? *'s CIA and/or military either didn't advise him of the location of OBL or they did and he deferred to act.

An interesting comparison
Remember when Richard Clarke tried to get them to talk about Al Qaeda and terrorist threats before 911? Bush got ticked and brushed him off. "Ok. you've done your job." Also dismissive and ticked off when saying Osama was no longer of much concern to him. Because they cautiously kept their distance they could blame their filed commanders for letting Bin Laden escape Afghanistan.

In order to keep distance from any accountability at all much less a responsibility to act. On the other hand, simultaneously, before during and after 911 the WH was focused on Iraq and Hussein like a laser with results that could have been applied to preventing or punishing actual terrorism, the Big Lie of the supposed ten year war.

13. Nobody was ever as useful to BushCo* as OBL.
Had he been verified as being killed during their maladminstration, they'd have had to invent another, credible boogeyman. BushCo* is/was neither that smart or creative. The quality of the OBL videos and audios released by D. Cheney productions every time they wanted more concessions from Congress and the people speaks volumes about their limitations - fat OBL, young OBL, OBL dipped in a vat of "Just For Men". The Jib-Jab videos had more credibility.

I'm all for suspension of disbelief when watching a film, but not at all for politics and terrorism.

8. They say the same thing about "no attacks since 9/11"
When the Republicans are reminded that Obama kept us safer than Bush did, they respond by saying that it's because of the security and safeguards Bush implemented after 9/11.

They never mention how Bush didn't do a damn thing to get Osama bin Laden and didn't do a damn thing when told we were under attack on 9/11.

And they certainly won't mention how he invaded the wrong country.

Republicans are lying piles of shit...

9. Torture had nothing to do with finding Bin Laden
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x4836784
<snip>
When one of Osama bin Laden's most trusted aides picked up the phone last year, he unknowingly led U.S. pursuers to the doorstep of his boss, the world's most wanted terrorist.

That monitored phone call, recounted Monday by a U.S. official, ended a years-long search for bin Laden's personal courier, the key break in a worldwide manhunt. The courier, in turn, led U.S. intelligence to a walled compound in northeast Pakistan, where a team of Navy SEALs shot bin Laden to death.

The Dems have to start pushing the truth out there or else R. propaganda becomes the new truth.

19. Zero. And Dems will not want to be seen as gloating or pointing fingers at Bush.
Bill Clinton has most of the party convinced that Bushes deserve public respect for their 'service' to this country.

Fock that free pass for fascists.

15. They're so distraught you would think someone died.
They fight for a CEO's right to win millions of bonus dollars, despite the fact that it's the people below him that are doing the work.

Yet, Obama doesn't get credit for being commander-in-chief and using a "stratergery" better than Bush who is on record saying that Osama was not a priority.

Simply put, they are not aware of the fact and an effort is being made to astroturf the next spin. It doesn't matter how inaccurate they are unless they can get millions of right-wingers to repeat their meme.

Same ole, same ole.
