2. I think it's safe to celebrate for the night.
yes, we should be cautious of potential attscks. But not much wrong with celebrating for a bit if one chooses to.

4.  That's OK. I don't care much for
celebrating people's heart attacks.

Osama bin Laden death deserves a parade.

"I hope we stay vigilant of potential attacks."

Agree. Responsible people will.

12. Absolutely. We must be ever-vigilant
against likely manipulation by big gov't in collusion with big corporations,

to do their bidding to boost private their very profits at the expense of all the rest of us, the commoners.

13. I hear what you're saying...
it does seem weird...like someone won the Superbowl or something - but this motherfucker did kill 3,000+ Americans and Obama did finally hunt him down.

17. Bin Laden deserves no more respect dead than he did alive -
but the point is, celebration is short-sighted at best.

Bin Laden was hardly a player anynore - his death changes nothing. Not since the government divorced him from our reason for being in Afghanistan.

If this speeds up our departure from Afghanistan, great.

I don't expect it.

22. You mean the 3000 who died on 9/11, or the others who've died since then because of the fucker.
We've mourned a long time. They've been brought justice, and we're celebrating that.

23. Only those that deserve respect.
I guess you have respect for mass murderers.

I happen to think they reap what they sow, and are not worthy of any respect, dead or alive.

Some men have no honor, and deserve to be treated in death exactly how they treated others in life.

19. “I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure.” Mark Twain
Bin Laden was an evil maniac responsible for thousands of deaths. I wasn't around during WWII, but it was a very good thing for the world when Hitler's death was reported (66 years ago today), and another good thing happened today.
