Why wasn't there a trial?
Why didn't any of the people in these buildings and airplanes get a trial?

7. I'm all for trials, but isn't our nation already strapped for cash? Do we need
to spend millions more to try someone who would undoubtedly be found guilty (unless you are hoping for the possibility that he'd be found innocent--in which case, all hell would break loose in this country).

20. My 12 year old daughter said this AM,
"It is hard to know how to feel about someone being shot through the head. Even a very bad guy."

That is sort of how I feel but boy is that a FLAMER today on DU.

I just sort of wish we could have perp walked him into the Hague but maybe that would've been less conclusive.

I don't know. What a mess.

9. Bullshit
There is no equivalency there.

The reason he didn't get a trial is the same reason John Dillinger or Robert Mathews didn't get trials - they resisted arrest for their crimes and were shot.

The very first time you contend that a crime is too horrific to allow a trial, you lose the rule of law.

19. I'd have liked to see a trial
just for the information we might have gotten out of it.

"Who sold you the weapons that you fired on American troops with?!" "Uh. Reagan and his successor George Bush."
