Ya know, even the Mafia stays away from family
What are we showing the world? More importantly: who and what are we?

We lie.

We lied about protecting civilians: even in the most charitable light, we were inserting ourselves as an agent to help a revolution, much as we denied any such thing. Now we kill families, while claiming to be defending the innocent. The government and the rebels both have more than enough skeletons--real and conjured up for pity--in their respective closets, but the simple fact remains: we've been sold a load of crap. If it was a "popular" uprising, it would surely be over by now with the benevolent umbrella of airpower and the deceitful--and illegal--shipping of arms. It isn't.

We are not being told the truth. We're on a high horse of moral superiority, yet we're engaging in systematic violations of even the thin pretext by which we launched this war: we're facilitating the shipping of weapons, we're ignoring the violations of the rebels, we're attempting to dictate the outcome of a Civil War, all while cloaked in the strident emotional outcry of protecting civilians and targeting the families of those we can't bring ourselves to admit we're fighting.

We suck.

We really suck.

It is astonishing how many people have bought into the despicable imperialist deceit that this is simply to "help" the innocent when we are doing nothing less than a wealth grab from those who won't bend to our need for their stuff. Gilbert and Sullivan couldn't conjure up a greater farce of naked greed and pretext. It is so transparent that the very sands scream out.

Qaddafi threatened nationalization; everything else is just maneuvering.

Ugly beyond ugly is our sanctimonious keening of moral superiority.

We suck, and those who continue to accept the asshole party line are fools.

6. That's an outcry. Feel free to PM me.
In the immortal words of Randy Newman: "My life is good". No, that doesn't mean I'm good, it just means that even as I see the horrors around me, I'm very lucky, and feel I need to give back. It's a thing called liberalism.

Wow.

Sorry to have touched a nerve in that way; maybe I'm just not enlightened enough to have self-hatred.

11. Whether you like it or not, you are a part of this country.
I accept my responsibility for all the ugliness we do, even though I vote and work against it.

It was an anonymous offering of contact. Reject as you please.
