A couple quick questions.

1: I remember something from what seems like ages ago about DU 3.0. Was that rolled out gradually and I just didn't notice or is it still in the works?

2: I also recall something about posters not being allowed to post on a thread once they've already had something deleted on the selfsame thread. Is this still in the works or was it dropped with the recent update of the civility rules?

1. Answers

1. DU 3.0 is still in the works. It has not been rolled out yet. We still hope to introduce this new software, but we frequently find ourselves making upgrades and additions to DU 2.0 (the current version) which slows down our progress on DU 3.0. At the moment the plan is to release the new software in parallel to DU 2.0 -- not as a replacement -- in a kind of barebones "alpha testing" format, so that people can mess around with it and we can use their experiences to fix bugs, improve the software, and generally get it working the way we want it. It may not be too long before we are able to do this, but it will probably be quite some time before it's in a state where we can actually replace DU 2.0.

2. We did propose this idea earlier in the year, but we believe our new "Edit Request" system is superior, and the "one deletion and you're out of a thread" idea isn't really compatible with that system. That's not to say the idea has been completely discarded, however, but it is not currently part of our plans.
