I would suggest that you keep a journal about the new moderation features of DU3.
I think that you've been in a unique position over the past ten years to observe and shape message-board dynamics, and I can see from the hints at what is to come that you've probably devised something new and exciting. My advice to you: capture these moments, if only for yourself to read later. Let yourself have an document of your vision and expectations beforehand, an account of the emergent phenomena that transpired, and a space to check in about what your thoughts were as it was all happening. This is your big idea right now, and even if you don't share this journal with anyone else, I don't think you'll regret keeping it.

1. To be honest, I think it's probably best that I am not keeping a journal about DU.
The daily annoyances are best forgotten. What will remain after the transition to DU3, and the necessary fine-tuning period, is what's really important.
