Why was the story about Krista Dittmeyer moved from LBN?
I posted the original story when she went missing, and followed up with when her body was found, which was then pulled from the news agency I had posted from, so I requested at that time to remove the post. We then had confirmation from BDN, who has been modifying the story as it goes. The last modification to the story, by BDN was April 28, 2011, at 6:52 a.m and I posted it at Thu Apr-28-11 12:52 PM. With in the time frame rules for LBN.

1. I suspect they felt the story was not of national interest.
Sorry.

2. ok, so
that still doesn't make any sense. I posted the original news story of a missing woman, age 20, which has kind of a strange twist to it. Post is allowed to stay. Woman's body, who went missing, is found in a pond, near her car, where her 14 month old child had been left behind. This is a story that follows all the rules....and I have seen other similar posts (updates to original stories) in LBN. I don't see anything in the rules that a post in LBN has to be of "national interest". In fact, the first reply to my post, which is similar to what you just said to me was deleted.

I'm not mad that it was moved (lol, not that it would matter anyway) but, if posts in LBN are to only pertain to national interest, perhaps you should include that in the rules.

1. Do not post news that is more than 12 hours old.

2. Do not post duplicate topics about news events that have already been posted.

3. Do not post opinion pieces, editorials, frivolous items, or other stories that are not news.

4. Whenever possible, post excerpts and links from reputable mainstream news sources that are available online. Do not link to blogs, vanity sites, or blatantly biased sources, except in cases where reputable mainstream sources are not available.

5. Please make an effort to link directly to the original source of an article, instead of linking to sites that have re-published someone else's content, or re-packaged someone else's content as their own.

6. Do not post links to polls, petitions, or other action items.

7. Discussion of Israeli/Palestinian issues is not permitted in the Latest Breaking News forum, and instead must be posted in the Israeli/Palestinian Affairs forum. If, however, the news item is primarily about U.S. policy in Israeli/Palestinian affairs, you may post it in the Latest Breaking News forum.

8. All of our other rules for posting still apply, including copyright rules.

3. The moderators in that forum act as editors, and do occasionally remove stories...
...that are not of national interest.

But absolute consistency is not possible.
