Cain's Wife Won't Appear On Fox Friday

Herman Cain’s wife, Gloria, will not appear on Fox News on Friday, the New York Times reports. As the scandal surrounding Cain has unfolded, the Republican presidential contender promised that the public would soon meet his wife.

2. If a right winger won't appear on Fox
where the interviewers kiss their ass and apologize for the kiss not being endearing enough, something has to be up.

Gloria Cain Won’t Do Fox Appearance
By JIM RUTENBERG

Gloria Cain will not be appearing on the Fox News Channel on Friday night after all, a person close to the talks told the Caucus.

Ms. Cain had indicated to the network earlier in the week that she would appear on “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” tomorrow night, but apparently had a change of heart. The person familiar with the talks, who requested anonymity to discuss private conversations, said that Ms. Cain did not entirely close the door on appearing on the network some time in the future.

Her decision comes as her husband, Herman Cain, continues to face questions about accusations of harassment while head of the National Restaurant Association.

5. I think she knows the truth. And that isn't really the problem for her.
It is probably that she knows that others know he did it and she can't lie as effective. It would be easier to lie when others didn't know it was a lie.

7. Why is Cain hiding her?
When he is asked about where she is, he says "She is at home." That could be Fundie code for "A woman's place is in the home." Some Fundies believe that women should not take part in any public activity, because it is their job to be submissive to their husbands. Those women only vote if their husband wants them to, and only as he dictates. The rest of the time they are sewing Civil War clothes for the baby-a-year, reading the Bible and canning fruit. Mrs. Cain is probably too old to be that generation.

People in the middle of a scandal often tell interviewers they will answer questions about anything but "__________," and I can't imagine Fox News would force a Republican guy's wife to discuss his cheating in detail, so what is it? Either this poor woman is housebound for some reason, has two black eyes, or wants no part of her husband's campaign, which implies she may not approve of it. What if she doesn't want Herman Cain for President? Colin Powell's wife didn't want him to run, and she had issues with chronic depression, which affected his decision. Maybe Cain just wants to run and doesn't care that she's against it.
