I think they're nervous...very nervous...
Maybe it's just me, but I have noticed that Republicans have been unusually incoherent -- to the point of babbling -- over the OWS protests. When people do this, it is a cue that they are nervous over something, like finding out that their secret, e.g. that they stole something -- is about to be revealed. The gibberish coming out of the mouths of every Republican commenting on the OWS has been quite revealing. They are just plain SCARED!

Just my 2 cents, but I am picking up a pattern here...

2. I thought this morning, what are they going to say? They DON'T support the 99%? Media is doing a goo
...job at not labeling the OWS protesters as the 99%

3. It's either that or they haven't yet received
their marching orders and talking points from On High. The puppet masters are working on a coordinated response as we speak, you better believe it. They want to make it disappear.

I don't think they'll succeed though. Cat's out of the bag. Haha.

5. My guess is that they weren't prepared for this thing to catch on.
They've been playing the sheeple for so long, they thought they had it made.

This makes me think: "what ELSE are they hiding?"

4. Have you gotten a load of their "candidates"?
I'd be more than nervous if I was them....
that's a whole lot of bullshit that has to be sold....

They also are facing the fact that the more they denounce the OWS,
The more hypocritical they appear based on their promoting the Tea Party....
even to the untrained political "just regular voters" eyes.

learn from history...

11. Sure seems so - I've run into quite a few in my town who tried to laugh off...
...the OWS protest here as "hippies being hippies" and when I slammed them with the truth, they were absolutely speechless. They really are nervous.

14. OWS is not the political map
that any of them were planning to run on. Their entire campaigns are premised in the Tea Party reality of 2010 and the notion that the Tea Party reality would grow as a political force. What they have been doing in Congress has been an attempt to grow that map of reality. What has happened instead is that a new reality has arisen that is populist and actively hostile to their planned talking points.

They can see their chances evaporating to irrelevance daily. There is not one of them with the skills to navigate this. Only Barack Obama is remotely in a position to gain advantage, and they all pretty well know it.

19. The GOP believed their own propaganda regarding the tea baggers.

How many tea baggers were new voters? How many were disaffected Democrats, or swing voters? Pretty much none.

The tea baggers were reliable GOP voters. It made a difference in a midterm election because it got their voters to come out to vote.

In a Presidential election both sides will come out to vote. And the outcome will be decided by the swing voters. If the tea bagger nastiness continues they will throw the swing voters to the Democrats. Polls showed that a solid majority of the country correctly identifed the GOP (and their tea bagging cohort) as the cause of the debt "crisis".

They urged their rank-and-file to inflate PUMAs numbers, then believed PUMA represented a huge swing vote in their favor. They urged their rank-and-file to become tea-baggers, then believed tea-baggers are a huge swing vote in their favor. It is pretty bad when you fall for your own propaganda.

20. Indeed and beyond
They have worked to create more dysfunction and discord on the notion that this would grow the TP and make BHO a one termer. They were successful in creating dysfunction, discord, and anger about it. They believed that they had it channeled into a friendly spot, this is where hubris plays out large.

It is easier to contain and control a volcano that it is to predictably direct public anger. They wanted people angry and worked hard to make it happen, true justice can only be served if the anger they created turns around and bites them on the backside.

There is a reason why generations of politicians have avoided this tactic, and one only hopes their coming experience serves as a cautionary tale for several coming generations of politicians.

There is a reason why the consensus kept things on a more or less even keel, and agreed fairly readily to the minimum measures to do so. Basic social stability is as good for business as it is for the rest of us.

16. 'They' are not a secret cabal directing 'Puke events.
The candidates are incoherent and unlikeable because the party is falling apart. We may be witnessing the end of the GOP. I know it doesn't seem like that at this moment but this may be the start of the end for them.
