Republicans agree: They don't want job creation while Obama is still president

by Jed Lewison

Here's what the Republican Party accomplished yesterday:

  1. <...>

  2. Their presidential candidates held a debate on the economy in which they failed to offer even a single idea about how to create jobs now.
Meanwhile, on the Democratic side, we saw a couple of things happen that we normally don't.

  1. Despite some bellyaching from some corners of the caucus, nearly all Senate Democrats stuck together and voted against the Republican filibuster, providing 51 votes to move forward with Obama's jobs bill. That wasn't enough to clear the 60 vote threshold to move past a filibuster, but it means a majority of Senators want a jobs bill.

  2. After nearly three years of giving Republicans the benefit of the doubt, President Obama's political machine finally said what they needed to say: Republicans are acting in bad faith, trying to sabotage the nation's economy merely to score political points.

1. I wonder how much job creation they'll want afterwards too?

If the previous 8 years, most of it with the Republicans fully at the helm of the federal government, is any indication, not much IMHO.

2. It's hard to believe "indepenedents" would not blame Republicans on this
Therein lies the mystery .. why don't people get it and aim their anger at the Repukes.

5. The GOP does not believe the Government has a role in Job
Creation except to create an en environment free of Regulation
and minimal taxes for Business. Give Business complete FREEDOM.

How often have you heard one Gop office holder after another
repeat. The Government does not create Jobs.

When is any Democrat going to point this out.
