1. Attacking the base is a bad strategy, and that's exactly what's happening.
The Administration is handling this matter badly, imo.

4. Wanna bet?

If both of us are still posting after this bill is implemented, I will bet you a bottle of your favorite spirit that the body count will be equally as high as it it today if not higher.

You can call health care reform if you choose, I will call it the Health Insurer Profit Preservation Act of 2009.

5. I know you're cynical
& you'll always be able to find evidence that it's not working and will ignore evidence that it is. I don't want to play this game - let's get the good that's in this bill and fight like hell to get it improved in the future. It's all we can do if we want to see this system improved.

7. Well, I am happy to report we finally agree on one thing!
The bill will pass. Of that, it looks certain. While you can celebrate this is a huge step forward, I will lament it as being solely designed to allow insurance companies an additional decade or two to pummel Americans. We do agree that this bill will need improvement. My only fear now is that your idea of improvemnet will be something like mandating Americans buy drugs at Wal-Mart or face prison.

:)

8. But think, during the Huckabee administration we can be friends again!
It's just so much better to be the underdog! :sarcasm:

11. Do you sometimes wonder if there are those who miss being the opposition?
Tossing grenades can be addictive I think.

13. Yep. It's easier to do that than to support something
Easier to tear down than to support. Some of these posts are as if support of a politician is wrong in and of itself. Like you have to find something to criticize and loudly trumpet that criticism, or you are a lock stepping hero worshiper.

15. ONLY A PERSON WHO RISKS IS FREE
ONLY A PERSON WHO RISKS IS FREE
by Author Unknown

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach for another is to risk involvement.
To expose your ideas, your dreams,
before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To believe is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken, because the
greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing, do nothing,
have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid suffering and sorrow,
but they cannot learn, feel, change,
grow, love, live.
Chained by their attitudes they are slaves;
they have forfeited their freedom.
Only a person who risks is free.

Yelling at people on DU is NOT a risky proposition.

9. Is that why the Obama admin attacked the progressive base?
Sure didn't make them any friends there.
