Well I guess I got my blood pressure up for nothing! And
that's a good thing!! After reading the article by Mr. Soderman, I am much relieved even though drastic cuts may still come from education. I guess if news about the "baseline" had been reported during the negotiations the republicans never would have taken the bait.

Indeed, I am relieved and my only reservation at this point, is if POTUS and Harry Reid own up to their word when the time comes. Fascinating stuff and a must read.

1. It's not even 7th dimensional chess
It's just normal chess. Boehner got nervous and fucked up. Entitlements are off the table except for cost controls in PPACA, and the Bush tax cuts are essentially unextendable.

Triple win:
Tax cuts gone
Defense spending cut
Health care reform as the sole entitlement deficit reduction vehicle.

Guys, we won.

3. "...I am much relieved even though drastic cuts
may come from education". Are you serious? What the hell kind of logic is that? Education is the backbone of this country. A learned citizenry is imperative for a democracy to exist and flourish. No reasonable Democrat would make such a stupid statement.

4. The cuts I'm referring to is the Graduate Financial Aid.
I'm sorry if I upset you. I'm not a reasonable Democrat and I'm stupid. Allowances please.

10. Thank you for this Fire1.
And yes I agree...we need Dems to keep their word. We need them to improve or hold the line on everything.

11. The Defense cuts are huge!
The big 3 were not touched and the debt ceiling was raised and won't be touched for a long time.

I think the Reid and Obama will stand by their word. Especially with the Repugs out there already saying they won't raise taxes....the triggers will hurt the Repugs more than it will hurt us.
