O’Reilly Slams Tea Party’s ‘Hateful Rhetoric,’ Warns GOP ‘Craziness’ Is Just Helping Obama

By Marie Diamond

Yesterday, conservative radio and television host Bill O’Reilly had a message for the far-right absolutists in the GOP who are driving the country to the brink of default: You’re helping President Obama get re-elected. On his Fox News show, O’Reilly argued that the unrealistic demands and tactics of Tea Party activists and lawmakers are actually self-defeating:

O’REILLY: The only thing that can save Barack Obama at this point is craziness on the right…It’s not only going to hurt the Republican party, which has already been hurt, but it’s going to save President Obama who they hate…The irony is, the people who dislike President Obama the most…are helping him the most. You’ve got to stop this hateful rhetoric. Some of the rhetoric is so hateful…it’d spin your head around. You have to say, listen, we’re at a point in the history when we have to save the country…But I just hope they’ll all just say let’s do what’s good for the country.

Watch it:

Rand Paul isn't going to like that!

The GOP civil war is fun to watch.

12. They'll deal with it the way they always do
I know many fox news hounds. They'll temporarily hate his guts till their short attention spans subside. I've witnessed it myself before over the years: Every time Bill O, or any other talking head ( or even any conservative GOP-er ) makes even the slightest scintilla of a deviation from the hard right tone, they snarl, moan, wave their arms and about walk away from the TV. Believe me though, they hate "the left" so much...have so much skin in the game of hating the left, that they'd rather sink with their own righteous indignation than swim with the empirical evidence that shows how misinformed they are.

If it's of any consolation, they worst of those I know are dinosaurs demographically, so time will take it's toll in due course.

2. People who have devoted their careers to encouraging hateful rhetoric
are now seeing what happens when the Frankenstein monster they created runs amok in the village. Soon the villagers will be at THEIR doors with pitchforks and torches.

Now they get to live with it. Beck may be gone, but they were all damned culpable for creating the TEABAGGER crazies.

16. Can you imagine a more clueless group of nutjobs in Congress? It's like every rightwing....
basement dwelling freeper troll, armed with Rush Limbaugh talking points, lucked out in 2010, and actually got elected. I think it came as much of a surprise to them, as it did to us. WTF did the GOP think was gonna happen? They unleashed the crazy, and now it's come back to bite 'em in the ass. I think it's a hoot!

8. Spread this one far and wide (DON'T let them DIG US DEEPER).
“I am a small business owner. Most years I make over $250,000 a year, and you know republicans keep on saying they can’t tax the wealthy, they’re the job creators. Ed, THEY’RE WRONG.”

As a small business owner, I am not a job creator! The MIDDLE CLASS in this country are the real job creators, those people making $30,000, $40,000, $50,000 a year. Ed, you know two-thirds of our economy is driven by consumption. That consumption is not being done by the top 2%. It’s the vast middle class. People listening have to understand that businesses exist to create profit. You have to make businesses hire by creating DEMAND for their goods and services. We have a DEMAND PROBLEM in our economy, NOT a cash problem for businesses. Business owners, wealthy people, they DON’T need more cash.”"

13. When BillO is the voice of reason on the right,
you know the Republican Party has gone off the deep end. This guy looks communist compared to some of his counterparts on Fox. It's ridiculous.
