(p)Rick Perry is running for President folks
WASHINGTON — The entire top echelon of Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign resigned on Thursday, a stunning mass exodus that left his bid for the Republican nomination in tatters. But the former House speaker vowed defiantly to remain a candidate.

Carney, who was heading up Gingrich's efforts in New Hampshire, is former aide to Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who may be mulling his own White House run. And Johnson, Gingrich's (now former) campaign manager, ran Perry's election bid last year.

The field is wide open
he has good hair
Texas is closer to a battleground than anyone wants to admit
he can tap the same money W did

He is running.

20. Well, in order to "fix" things
so secession won't be necessary. Gotta get rid of all of that Librul junk.

6. Texas, a "battleground state"? Oh, get real.
The idea Texas is even remotely a battleground is ridiculous.

13. Does he represent a (potentially) serious threat?
I don't know much about him other than he seems to have been spouting off a lot of secessionist ideals since Obama was elected POTUS. Why does HE want to be part of the federal government if he hates it so much????

:wtf:

26. To use it for
Conservative purposes and then leave it in worse shape than Dubya. He can't balance his state budget let alone the Federal budget. He has been talking about this administration and had his had out all while he has been running off at the mouth. He fucked up when he rejected the stimulus money and ended up with a 700 million dollar shortfall. He spent the money that was designated for emergency fire and forestry management on something else and ran out of money to fight the fires in Texas. he also was involved in the conservative education movement with school books. He is the epitome of the word shithead. He is so smart I wonder where he thinks Texas can go if it were to go into succession. It isn't like Texas is made for walking.

15. He has
so much to run from, up to and including the hair! I'd say he doesn't have a chance, but given the field so far, I hope they do nominate him. Take a look at where the State of Texas is ranked, in things like education spending, and other "people" related services. Near the bottom if not rock bottom all the way..

I've said it before.

Please run, oh, please.. With BBQ on it!!

Obama's campaign team must have really good dreams about running against some one like Perry. To Ice the cake, Perry picks Gov Rick Scott of Florida for his number two.. how appropriate!!

21. I'd like to see them explain away his state's deficit.
Isn't it something like $3 trillion? That will go over well with the deficit hawks. Can't argue with anything you said, except for his #2. Right state. Wrong guy. Regardless of who runs, the VP will be Marco Rubio. They think that running a Hispanic will make up for all the Mexican-bashing, "illegal alien" legislation, "make English our official language" crap, etc. Somehow, I don't think that's going to happen.

17. He's doing all the "right" things to get the nomination
with this radical crew of wingnuts. Going after teachers, calling for a prayer event, cursing the federal government - he is the Teabaggers' friend. He will run, and I believe get the nomination.

18. They quit because Gingrich was horrible, not because they wanted to go to Perry
They might yet join him, but this isn't a sign of anything but Gingrich's own patheticness yet.
