Obama working to rebuild grassroots army!
PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- President Barack Obama's re-election campaign is barely a month old, but Camille Gervasio and other volunteers nationwide already are hard at work.

"Are you with us? Are you in?" Gervasio asks into her iPhone, dialing through a call sheet resting on her laptop to line up supporters for an election 18 months away.

In call centers like this one on the eighth floor of an office building, the president's backers are trying to take advantage of a head start over the still-forming Republican field and the benefits of incumbency to rebuild a grassroots effort that mobilized millions of voters in 2008.

2. There are a few things, I can think of, he could
do that would insure an easy coast to re-election.

3. But that would mean actually doing something that helps real people
The Corporate Overlords and Too Big to Fails wouldn't like that.

4. Is there a "Don't Call List" I can join?
Edited on Mon May-16-11 05:52 AM by Smarmie Doofus
I'll be working on keeping my job ( PS teacher) in the face of corporate school "reform" and on union activism (Obama's admin wants to gut ed unions) as well as on issues of transparency and accountability in foreign policy and in the executive branch in general.

Sorry, Charlie. Not this time. Only good-tasting tuna get to be Starkist.

(Oh... and on a primary challenge; if there's a suitable one.)

7. He wouldn't need to rebuild the army
if he'd not thrown the army under the bus in the first place.

End the wars, then maybe we'll talk.

13. If some in his army actually paid attention to his campaign,
they'd know he's doing exactly what he SAID he'd do re: the wars.

10. Our grass roots org is ALL ready to go.
We have a couple of naysayers but, as everybody knows, they where whining in the primaries and up to the general as well. I have yet to actually meet and NEW complainers.
