Obama way ahead of Republicans for 2012 election
http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/05/11/us-usa-campaign-poll-idUSTRE74A4UD20110511

President Barack Obama has a wide lead over potential Republican rivals for the presidential election in 2012, but faces serious doubts about his handling of the U.S. economy, a Reuters/Ipsos poll found on Wednesday.

...

He polls above 50 percent when compared to his closest rivals, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, according to the poll.

Obama leads Huckabee by 51 percent to 39 percent, and Romney by 51 percent to 38 percent.

The president's approval rating is at 49 percent, a 3-point increase over last month, amounting to only a modest bounce after the May 2 bin Laden operation. Other surveys have given him a slightly larger post-bin Laden boost.

2. Again, an early Rec to zero.
Beating the crazy Republicans isn't good news for some people anymore.

Bizarro.

who isn't among the most wealthy in this nation would vote GOP.

Too bad Steele isn't still heading the RNC. He could change their blog back to, "What up?"

6. Good
I am more Intrested In the head to head numbers than approval.

I am not convinced Huchabee IS going to run.He occassional says sane things.

If romney can get through the Republican primarys he can be made Into a joke by Obama and his supporters. His flipflopping from
Moderate somewhat socially Liberal Republican to hard core conservative Republican can help undo him In general election.Plus
the minute he critices In General election the Obama Health care plan he has another flipflop over his head.

Just Imagne Obama leads Republicans before he has to attack any of them.

15. Doesn't matter who he runs against
Republicans will cheat in every state possible.

Congress needs to pass laws handing down long mandatory minimums to those who commit election fraud.

9. Obama delivers, this should be featured
OBAMA DELIVERS! From the second Presidential Debate 2008:

QUESTION TO OBAMA (Katie Hamm): Should the United States respect Pakistani sovereignty and not pursue al Qaeda terrorists who maintain bases there, or should we ignore their borders and pursue our enemies like we did in Cambodia during the Vietnam War?

OBAMA: Katie, it's a terrific question and we have a difficult situation in Pakistan. I believe that part of the reason we have a difficult situation is because we made a bad judgment going into Iraq in the first place when we hadn't finished the job of hunting down bin Laden and crushing al Qaeda.

So what happened was we got distracted, we diverted resources, and ultimately bin Laden escaped, set up base camps in the mountains of Pakistan in the northwest provinces there.

They are now raiding our troops in Afghanistan, destabilizing the situation. They're stronger now than at any time since 2001. And that's why I think it's so important for us to reverse course, because that's the central front on terrorism.

They are plotting to kill Americans right now. As Secretary Gates, the defense secretary, said, the war against terrorism began in that region and that's where it will end. So part of the reason I think it's so important for us to end the war in Iraq is to be able to get more troops into Afghanistan, put more pressure on the Afghan government to do what it needs to do, eliminate some of the drug trafficking that's funding terrorism.

But I do believe that we have to change our policies with Pakistan. We can't coddle, as we did, a dictator, give him billions of dollars and then he's making peace treaties with the Taliban and militants.

What I've said is we're going to encourage democracy in Pakistan, expand our nonmilitary aid to Pakistan so that they have more of a stake in working with us, but insisting that they go after these militants.

And if we have Osama bin Laden in our sights and the Pakistani government is unable or unwilling to take them out, then I think that we have to act and we will take them out. We will kill bin Laden; we will crush Al Qaida. That has to be our biggest national security priority.

WE WILL KILL BIN LADEN; WE WILL CRUSH AL QAIDA.

11. The country is turning on the Republicans..
The voters were hoodwinked last November into thinking they had the answers. Clearly they do not.

12. I really don't understand how the voters could be hoodwinked when the Republicans told them exactly
what they would do which was either exactly the same thing they had been doing before making things terrible.

17. Or you could just ignore this thread...
Like most normal people do when they see a thread on the main page that doesn't seem to interest them - you know, instead of being a passive-aggressive asshole.

Just a thought.
