President Obama pushes green tech as an answer for jobs, gas prices
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/159783-obama-pushes-green-technology-as-an-answer-for-jobs-gas-prices

Touting the success of a manufacturing plant he visited in Indiana, President Obama said Saturday that clean energy businesses are the key to new jobs and lower energy prices in America.

"In the years ahead, it’s clean energy companies like this one that will keep our economy growing, create new jobs, and make sure America remains the most prosperous nation in the world," Obama said from the Allison Transmission plant in Indianapolis, where he taped his weekly address.

(snip)
"Over the long term, the only way we can avoid being held hostage to the ups and downs of oil prices is if we reduce our dependence on oil. That means investing in clean, alternative sources of energy, like advanced biofuels and natural gas. And that means making cars and trucks and buses that use less oil," the president said.

(snip)
"I refuse to cut investments like clean energy that will help us out-innovate and out-compete the rest of the world," he said. "I refuse to cut investments that are making it possible for plants like this one to grow and add jobs across America."

1. Yep! Pres Carter started it, Pres Clinton reiterated it was the way forward for the USA, and now
our very own President Obama is saying the same. I love us Democrats :)

2. This is good enviromental policy. Will never produce the number
of jobs needed to change the downward plunge of the Middle
Class.

I support Obama and his policy. We have been talking green
jobs for years. China and Asia are already producing solar
wind equipment.

Regarding Jobs. Both Parties had better start thinking
present. In the distant future we may have green energy
jobs. Over l5 million people need jobs now.

DLC Advisors in the WH. pay attention. This is not
the same as when Bill Clinton was President. He could
operate talking future, his economy had turned around.
Americans are hurting now. The same with Education.
Obama comes off as only working on the long term.
Right now Teachers are being laid off as fast as the
Private Sector tries to create jobs.

My point: Long term is good. Clinton could skate
on this. We are in a different world.

Both Parties appear to be avoiding the NOW.

This is not to criticise the President. We must focus
his advisors.
