Donald Trump: 'I've Always Had a Great Relationship With The Blacks'
Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 04:57 PM by msanthrope
Donald Trump recently granted an interview with NY Post editor Fred Dicker in which he most notably denied reports that he'd be announcing his presidential plans during the season finale of his reality show Celebrity Apprentice. But perhaps the other noteworthy bon mot to come from the lengthy and candid interview was Trump's assertion that he's always enjoyed a great relationship with "the blacks." Efforts to confirm Trump's statement were fruitless as we could not find one individual who could speak on behalf of "the blacks."

SNIP

Trump said the numbers were troubling and pointed to Hillary Clinton as proof that he probably won't get the kind of support among African-Americans that he deserves.

"I tell it like it is," Trump said. "ou'll hear a political reporter go on and say it had nothing to do with race. But how come she had such a tiny piece of the vote? And you know, it's a very sad thing.

"I have a great relationship with the blacks. I've always had a great relationship with the blacks. But unfortunately, it seems that, you know, the numbers you cite are very, very frightening numbers."

I am now convinced that the DNC is paying Trump to run, much in the same way the Republicans paid Al Sharpton to run 2004.
(ETA--for those of you who don't know, Mr. Trump introduced Mr. Sharpton to a Mr. Roger Stone in 2002. The rest is history.)

Edited on Thu Apr-14-11 10:48 PM by RoadRage
Hell his Hollywood agent is Rham's brother... and he donated $50K to Emmanuels mayoral campaign. Trump is trying too hard... although I always appreciate anyone who tries to make republicans out as dumb as they really are... I think even many of them will start seeing through this charade soon. Tone it down Trump... We have a long ways left to go to 2012!

25. I agree with you! He supported John Kerry in 2004
I always thought Trump leaned towards the Democrats. So I was shocked when he started with this birther crap. God knows, he hated GW Bush and never missed a chance to bash him. I'm wondering the same thing you are....Trump is doing really well with repubs in the polls right now...could this be scam to make their party look as stupid as they really are?

28. Actually..
for me it was earlier this week when he said if he didn't get the Republican Nod, he'd run independant. B.R.I.L.L.I.A.N.T. The moderate repups fall to Romney - the pissed off psycho racist birthers vote for "Trump" as a 3rd Party, and vioala - Obama wins in a heartbeat!

Seriously - hope Obama is sending this guy a cookie boquet or something... he deserves it. Going for the most obvious birther / racist crap is pure genius if you ask me.. gets all of the nuts on his side who aren't voting on issues anyway. Clearly Limbaugh hadn't though of this when he was spewing his "Operation Chaos" crap in '08. :)

27.  Is it the "the" that rankles?
I was/am not surprised Trump tripped over this one.
Race is a hard topic for even a seasoned pro.
This is not the last thing He'll step in ungracefully.

29. It gives an insight into his mind ... that he sees "the blacks" as all being "the same".
And that they are "other".
