DCCC posts big fundraising haul - $19.6 million in the first three months
DCCC posts fundraising haul
By: Alexander Burns

April 14, 2011 06:27 AM EDT

The Democratic Congressional Campaign committee took in an eyebrow-raising $19.6 million in the first three months of the year and cut its debt by more than half.

The committee, which was $19.5 million in debt in January, is now $8 million in the red. Thats a much more manageable sum, and will likely allay fears of debt posing a major obstacle to House Democrats in 2012.

Just as encouraging to Democrats: The DCCCs quarterly haul of $19.6 million is higher than the $17.2 million it raised in the first quarter of 2009, when Democrats held the House majority.

The DCCC finished March with $4.6 million in the bank.

The quarterly report is the latest sign of strength from the House Democrats campaign arm under the leadership of New York Rep. Steve Israel, who took over as chairman this year.

1. They need to do a better job of using it wisely.

They also need to realize that it is important to support candidates that will support the President but more importantly the people and not corporations.

When they get candidates elected that are idiots and don't support initiatives supported by the President they risk having the Democratic Party lose its support.
