2. Obama has certainly done a number of things to cheer about.
Torture, wiretapping, and coddling Wall Street aren't among them.

Oh, wait. I'm "whining". :eyes:

"Oh, wait. I'm 'whining'."

No, that's not whining, it's pushing completely unsubstantiated crap.

9. Right
one unconfirmed story about Manning = Abu Ghraib, and Obama = Bush.

What nonsense!

4. Excellent points. And the problem with this "I want it NOW" attitude in America
is that people are no longer paying attention to the long-term. They jump ship when all is not right with the world immediately, and that's going to have some really dire consequences if they do it again this time.

It's hard dealing with lying A$$holes on the repub side. Obama hasn't handled all things political like I would have liked, but, he has been cool headed and possibly more lenient than I would have wanted a Dem Pres to be. Steny Hoyer this a.m. made me proud with his Senate speeches. He is not a died in the wool lefty but nailed what the radical right is trying to pull on the American people. Obama has had a hard time dealing with the lying, bible thumping, deniers of the damage their party has done to the economy and wars we are in that were not paid for through the stupidity of the repubs. All they care about is getting rid of any govt. intervention in the needs of the masses that keeps this country as great as it has been in the past.

The greatness was shown by FDR, Kennedy, even Johnson who I hated for Viet Nam, Carter who realized that oil was a big deal in the workings of future security of the USA, Clinton, and now Obama.

I say, shut the damn govt down if we end up losing our soul in the process.

Edit: When it comes to enviromental issues, Obama has gone all around this country promoting companies that are into the GREEN area and lending money to such projects. He has protected this country from so many of the issues the repubs are frothing over like Social Security, abortion, well, just all the social issues that are important freedoms and protections that are necessary to keep the people that make less than half a million a year what they may need one day if illness, job loss, etc. strike them. What Wall Street, banks and corps get away with still is super frustrating. But if we lose Obama as President we totally hand over this country to the Supreme Court and Corporations. I think he is peddling as fast as he can against the big bucks.

11. This.
Suddenly all the complaining turns into nitpicking. Suddenly that vague dissatisfaction is instantly overshadowed by this shuddering, sour tang deep in the gut that just about screams OMFG, thank God Obama's there, how much worse off we'd be without him, how much good he's actually accomplished, how blessed his articulate intelligence, how proud we are every time he travels abroad -- please, please, please don't ever leave and sorry we complained in the first place and oh my God please don't leave.

+1,000,000 to infinity.

I still trust Obama to do the right thing.

I guess I'm vaguely authoritarian for a guy on my own side. Whip me, beat me, make me write bad checks. :eyes:
