No. Not without criticism from some pundits, anyway. Get a grip -- his predecessor took a record number of vacations. :eyes:

1. LOL. You are right but the funny thing is that this same criticism was running rampant on DU
yesterday. There is a lot of crap on DU now that is almost word for word the same garbage the RW spews at President Obama. What are ya gonna do? Sometimes I point and laugh.

3. Saying at least he's better than Bush is setting our standards very very low.

5. I guess the people criticizing him need to focus on themselves.
They can sit on their butts and type how he shouldn't be able to golf or fill out brackets, or, god forbid, his wife wear a nice dress to an event, but it's okay if they do nothing except sit on their butts and complain about him day in and day out, as if he should be fixing all the world's ills and all the shit they let happen in the past 30 years because they were sitting on their butts. Oh, and he needs to fix everything NOW or he will continue to be the object of scorn and derision. He gets the blame for everything as well. So no, he cannot take 5 fucking minutes to fill in brackets.

8. Yep! I think it is a form of racism
It's as if they believe because they can't multi-task certainl this black man can't do it. It plays into their stereotype of racist behavior. It took me 15 min to fill out my bracket....

6. When the "Professional Left" (like Lawrence O'Donnell) start repeating the RW talking points,
I'm shocked that Obama's approval is still at 50%.

16. LD is hardly the "Professional Left" . If he criticized Obama for what is in the OP
it is wrong, but stop blaming the left for any criticism of Obama. LD is barely a centrist.

20. He IS the "Professional Left." He has his own show. He gives his views on his show. He is,
by definition, the Professional Left.

15. He is not supposed to have any free time.
Every second of his day is supposed to be spent doing his job, the job of Congress, and the jobs of all the other world leaders. Get with the program, will ya? ;-)

9. I am old enough to remember how much criticism
Jimmy Carter received for NOT doing things like this when Iran held Americans hostage.

The Republicans told us that not carrying on business in a normal fashion showed weakness.

It does not matter what Obama does in his spare time. That's because the people doing the criticizing aren't intelligent enough to discuss the pros and cons of policy decisions in a rational way.

13. I always think of that when this BS comes up - like they would prefer him to treat the White House
as "under siege" at all times.

11. I may not usually care for his work but nobody can say Obama doesn't bust his ass.
Of course he can and SHOULD have some recreation.

Dumbest complaint ever, especially from the Reich and the beltway since Reagan as well as Junior Bush out vacationed many an administration in a fraction of their terms.

Obama has been the most "at work" President since Nixon as far as I can tell.

17. Bush was ridiculed on DU for his vacations
so why isn't Obama held to the same standard?

It's called leading vs. hiding. Bush gave the impression of a do nothing - not caring SOB. What message is Obama sending?

It's a bloody Final Four bracket. Probably took him five minutes to jot down before bed. He's not spending a month pretending to clear brush at an Hawaii pineapple farm or something.

The only message this is sending is "Hey, I made a Final Four bracket!"
