Let us all think about this: this is the first politics many of those people have ever participated in. What a glorious day for them!

3. Awesome! Thanks for posting these.
Off and on during the day I've turned on the TV to find coverage of this. It seems only Faux Noos is showing any of it and only to disparage the protesters.

8. One of those pictures shows a guy with an Obama 2012 sign
I guess he feels like the president's personal presence is not required.

9. I think Obama's presence would be a distraction from the real message,
which is about a populist uprising.

10. The senators just spoke about that and they said they were in touch
with him 1-2 times/day. They also didn't want him there, as this was the people of Wisconsin's battle and he would have drawn attention from that.

I think there was a lot of help behind the scenes.

the President. That would throw the DU haters off message.

24. Great read: Im Not Your Scapegoat
Via the AFL-CIO

Im Not Your Scapegoat: A unionized librarian refuses to play the dues-paying villain

<...>

I wont apologize for making a living wage, for being able to visit a doctor when I need one, or for choosing a job that will help me build adequate retirement savings. I deserve and expect those things, as educated, passionate workers in any field should. But thats not why I became a librarian, and I bet its not why you did. If we were just after a cushy lifestyle, there are easier (and lets face it, more surefire) ways of securing one. I didnt become a librarian to take; I became one because I wanted to give.
