..... in commending Gov. Brewer for what she said?

I thought she handled her part of the program very well.

1. It's too much like a murderer attending a funeral.
She is directly responsible for the deaths of to innocent people.

I'm having trouble forgiving these people. I truly believe that they are evil and don't care at all about the death of innocent victims.

I applaud you for rising to a higher level. I'm not there yet. And I also believe that innocent people will continue to die if we continue to sweep it under the rug, buying into the falsehood that "it happens on both sides."

I'm not there yet.

11. Look at it like this....
.... if someone's yelling at you that you're wrong, are you going to listen?

But if a friend takes you by the hand and tries to respectfully explain it to you, well, the odds are a bit better than they'll make headway.

If we all treated one another like every day is our last then our tomorrows would be much brighter.

20. I hear you. For me, it harder because none of them have been held
accountable for their vitriol. If Brewer had taken ownership of her mistakes, I'm there with her. But as long as she continue to run from her hateful rhetoric, I can't get there.

I feel the same for the right in general. Rather than demonstrate candor, they are even making money off of this tragedy.

I'm trying. I'll get there, but I need a lot of work first.

Just being honest. I'm dealing with a lot of hatred in my heart right now.

14. I was pleasantly surprised at her graciousness
Whether she meant it or not is immaterial. She rose above politics and gave a very good speech. Let's hope the spirit of her words reflects some deeper reconsideration of both tactics and position on her part these last days. That may be too optimistic. I don't expect her to change her political views, but I think it would be commendable if she continues to adopt a tone of civility and rationality.

Being able to commend her is among my first steps in stopping putting down people just because I disagree with their politics.

Her wording was good, as were her mannerisms. She did a really nice job.

I THOUGHT she sounded drunk. I still do. And when she spoke the other day on something or other before the shooting, I was left with the same impression.

who manage once to say the right things. As the husband of a Mexican American woman (and father of 3 Mex-Am stepdaughters, and grandfather of 4 grandchildren), I will commend Gov. Brewer for absolutely ZERO.

on edit: but I will "rec" because it is the civil thing to do, and I don't want you to think I am being cross with you.
