2. So - you vote republican directly, or indirectly via throwing away your vote.
Not sure how that is any better than openly advocating a third party or a republican.

7. I bet a lot of this talk about not voting will change once the GOP nominee shakes out.
And how the general political environment looks at that time.

If Obama winds up going against someone who is pretty milquetoast and stands to win easily, then I could imagine a lot of these disgruntled liberals sitting out the election.

If Obama is up against Palin and it winds up being a dogfight, then there's no way that these people sit out.

So it's highly likely I'll just sit it out.

10. I will vote for President Obama in 2012.
If there is a dem primary challenge, we will have a Republican president. Guaranteed.

11. In 2012 one of 2 people will be elected president: either a Democrat or a Republican.
If you do not vote for the Democrat, it helps the Republican. I will not help a Republican gain the presidency in any way.

12. I hate Republicans too much to ever completely give up on any Democratic president
President Obama has disappointed me in more ways than one, too, especially with this horrific tax deal compromise with the repukes, but I'm still holding out hope that he'll turn it around before his term is up and go back to saying and doing what got him here in the first place.

16. This tax deal makes me....
Want to vote for him even more! Obama is the first president on my life time who actually puts his political life on the line so that taxes don't go up for the middle class and don't go up by 50% on the lowest tax bracket, and UI for 13 months. Not to mention HCR (which is not perfect but certainly will help millions of families). And Obama did this with a media out to destroy him and an opposition party that broke record in using the fillubuster.

17. Expressing criticism and disappointment is one thing
But if you've given up on President Obama and will not vote for him in 2012 even if he is the Democratic nominee then you should probably find another website to hang around on for the next couple of years.

Thank you for your understanding. Now I'm going to lock this.
