Photos: Heroes (The Obama Presidency, Day 683)
“The heroes of the world community are not those who withdraw when difficulties ensue, not those who can envision neither the prospect of success nor the consequence of failure -- but those who stand the heat of battle." ~ Hubert Humphry

U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) addresses the witnesses during the U.S. Senate Armed Services committee hearing on the repeal of section 654 of title 10, United States Code, "Policy Concerning Homosexuality in the Armed Forces" on Capitol Hill on Washington, December 3, 2010.

President Barack Obama is introduced to the troops during a rally in an unannounced visit at Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan, Friday, Dec. 3, 2010.

“Heroes know that things must happen when it is time for them to happen. A quest may not simply be abandoned; unicorns may go unrescued for a long time, but not forever; a happy ending cannot come in the middle of the story.” ~ Peter S. Beagle

1. That last photo with the hug and all the smiling faces is a truly wonderful pic.
The White House should promote the hell out of that one.

I mean, that's not just a hug .... that's a HUGGGGGGGGGGGAH!!! Look at her furrowed brow.

There's a whole 'nother world outside of DU, huh?

... Bush, Obama, Palin or otherwise. They're just doing their job. Thank YOU for reminding us of the righteous hyperbole that permeates DU.
