Anti-war Samuel Lipari Announces 2012 Democratic Primary Challenge to Senator Claire McCaskill

NOVEMBER 23, 2010. KANSAS CITY, MO. On the grounds of the Truman Library in Independence, Missouri Medical supply chain entrepreneur Samuel K. Lipari announced today at noon his decision to seek the 2012 Democratic Party nomination for US Senate and that he has formed an exploratory committee.
Senate Candidate Samuel Lipari announced his campaign during the deepening economic crisis in the USA and an outbreak of violence between North and South Korea, following a US/S. Korea drill threatening the over fifty year cease fire established during Harry S. Truman's presidency.

Senate Candidate Samuel Lipari recognized that when Governor Mel Carnahan tragically died in 2000 during his US Senate race, his widow Jean Carnahan bravely served in his place. Later when the terrors of 9/11 occurred Senator Carnahan made the decisions Mr. Lipari stated he believed at the time were needed like most Missourians.

When the nation was being led to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, some Missourians organized the KC Iraq Task Force to demonstrate against war. Its early members included social justice minded Catholics, former missionaries, Mennonites, US Military veterans and others who morally opposed war and some who had seen first hand the effects of wars on innocent peaceful citizens around the world. The KC Iraq Task Force regularly demonstrated outside of Senator Carnahan's office, the Plaza and during the noon hour on Wednesdays across from the US Courthouse.

Senate Candidate Samuel Lipari recognizes the wisdom of Missourians in the KC Iraq Task Force and others who cautioned our nation against war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Now that reason and caution is needed as we interpret what is happening today on the Korean Peninsula. Senate Candidate Samuel Lipari announced his candidacy because the budget crisis created by the out of control current spending in what are now our nation's longest wars threaten the economic existence of our nation. The billions of dollars being spent with little or no accountability because of the wars have been diverted from the social safety net and infrastructure our government needs to care for people in America and from foreign aid to peaceful peoples around the world.

2. IIRC, Lipari has a more-or-less endless lawsuit or sequence of lawsuits associated
with his medical supply business; much of the stuff is posted at his website: http://www.medicalsupplychain.com/news.htm
