4. Although it's the Dems who thwarted this (or the British, anyway). So if it
IS the Reps, I think they're not going to get the response they hope for.

7. Unless it's a distraction from another story...
in that case it's done its job.

13. The only other stories that were being aired is how the Dems are doomed on
Tuesday, so again, I say either this was legit, the Dems did it (which I doubt), or the RW miscalculated and failed. But, they'll spin it their way somehow, with that I agree! :hi:

about Deepwater Horizon.

15. About Halliburton? That's even been on the local news (lots of that stuff never

makes it that far), so I'm confident we'll be back on it soon -- I'm sure nobody's forgotten. :7 But you bring up a good point in that the news is all about the elections, even though they have covered Halliburton, too. I think everything will take a back seat until after Tuesday.

ETA: Tweety is going to cover the Haliburton story, and he identified as "Cheney's company".

3. That's been mentioned, so you're not alone. I always thought it was the Reps
who were behind it so they could prove they were On The Job Keeping America Safe. Do you think the Dems are behind this?

This one is a puzzler, it seems as though it's essentially all over, so I don't understand the continuing coverage, do you?

BULLSHIT poll out saying O'Donnell has cut Coons lead in half because you know that's going to be the talk of the town

Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 04:38 PM by Whisp
is newsworthy today. minute by minute on the terror thing. not a split second of any other news in the whole god damned universe of time slots.

when they do that, I am always suspicious.

if I knew how I would start up a database of these 'events' and see what else actually happened today that we won't hear about for weeks, months, if ever.

No, I don't suspect Obama has anything to do with this - it's the moneyed and powerful and the filthy pugs (and some filthy dems yes there are some)

8. This is a put up job by the RW. They and their media lapdogs will spin it as:
"See, Obama can't protect Amurka, so you gotta vote Republican!!!"

9. But he did protect America...
This does the Republicans no good at all.

Many of them are most certainly furious right now.

The economy is the #1 issue. Anything that pulls the focus off the economy is a benefit to the Democrats.

The conspiracy theories are utterly misguided - unless you really believe Obama set this up to benefit the Democrats chance to hold onto a few more seats.

and people WERE protected

OTOH, under REPUBLICAN POTUS Bush, 9/11 was NOT thwarted
and approx. 3000 people DIED

These people truly have "issues".........:eyes: :banghead:

criticize somebody for actually THWARTING a possible terror plot. That just seems......stupid (but then again so are most Republicans........so).

that benefit the RW?

18. It is strange isn't it
You'd think that maybe people out there knew when the USA held elections, and tried to do their best to mess with the democratic process by launching attacks on or around one of our more sacred civic duties...it is funny isn't it?

It's almost like someone was telling them when we were holding elections!! We should investigate this immediately and stop broadcasting the fact that every two years we hold elections on Nov. 2...

20. Not you in particular, but do people get ...
that this is radical muslims?

This isn't some Rove contrived BS ...

This is real efforts by radical islamics to launch terrorist attacks in CHICAGO, the hometown of our president at the election ... Oh, and for daily double purposes, at Synagogues at a time of religious signficance to Jews ...

21. I would like to think they do
As much as alot of terror style attacks were hyped during the * administration, it would be naive to believe that groups do exist who have a singular purpose of attacking "the west"..

It seems like this morning on DU there was alot of joking around and cracks about terror attacks near elections...I don't see anyone cracking jokes here anymore.. I think we need to realize the new boss is NOT the same as the old, and when the Obama Administration comes out and says there is something amiss, then generally something is actually happening.

Someone tried to send us up the bomb today, and it was a fail, but only because our security network actually works..
