CNN/Time Poll--Nevada Senate: Angle 49% Reid 45%
I can't believe Nevada will elect this nut case!?

CNN) – With six days to go until the midterm elections, a new poll indicates the Republican challenging Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid holds a four point advantage in the most high profile Senate battle in the country.

According to a CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday, 49 percent of likely voters in Nevada are backing GOP Senate nominee Sharron Angle, who enjoys strong support from many in the Tea Party movement, with 45 percent supporting Reid, the top Democrat in the Senate who's bidding for a fifth term in the chamber. Angle's four point margin is within the poll's sampling error.

According to the CNN/Time poll, Reid leads 96 to 3 percent among Democrats, with Angle leading 82 to 10 percent among Republicans and 53 to 38 percent among independent voters.

"Reid is doing best in Clark County, home not just to Las Vegas but to his hometown of Searchlight," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "He manages a virtual tie with Angle in her home territory in Washoe County, where Reno is located. But Reid is getting clobbered in the rest of the state, losing the rural areas of Nevada by more than three-to-one."

In a sign that enthusiasm for voting appears to be on the Republican side, when expanded from those likely to vote to the larger sample of all registered voters, Reid holds a 43 to 39 percent advantage over Angle,

both with their racist ads as well as the campaign telling them not to vote.

I'm hoping they turn out en masse to vote against the GOP.

30. Problem with Nevada is too many white people versus blacks and Hispanics
Edited on Wed Oct-27-10 09:30 PM by Telalim
If you look at the stats for Nevada, while Hispanics make up 30% of the population, far
fewer in proportion to the white population aren't eligible/registered to vote. Blacks make up about 10% of the population. In essence, it's too white, that's why a nutcase like Angle is ahead in the polls. As Obama said, people are tribal in their voting this year. The problem for Reid is that he's on the short end of the tribal stick in Nevada.

15. The GOP has a popular Hispanic running for Governor.
Some observers feel that this fact helps the GOP in other Nevada races with Hispanic voters.

33. Reid's approval rating has been in the low 30's and disapproval in the 50's
for over a year.

That's a far better indicator of his probability of success next Tuesday than any snapshot poll (although this one does at least take into account Nevada's "none of the above" option that helped Harry out in the past).

9. John Ralston from NV was just on The Ed Show and said CNN's polling method was all
messed up, they over-sampled those favorable to Angle and under-sampled those favorable to Reid, and that if they had done an ACCURATE poll, Reid would be UP by 8%!

12. Look behind the lines
the registed voters In all except the Kentuckey poll says Democrats can win If vote.Nevada,Colorado,PA are all winnable.Of course
no one will In the Media will discuss the registered numbers. The point IS we should ignore pundits and their likely voter Polls
and vote.Any Democrat/Obama Supporter who does not vote should not complain about anything.

If Republicans are even talking about Demos and Unions stealing election that means they want talking points to the MSM and Tea
Party babe when they lose.Democrats are doing well In early voting. Now In the South that means nothing since many who call themselves Democrats will vote Republican but eaarly voting helps In Nevada,Midwest, and northeast. Those Democrats there unlike the
South will vote for Democrats.

I'm aware of pollsters switching back and forth between LVs & RVs, just to get the "desired" result, but African Americans? Hispanics "might" be barely conceivable, but even then........ Could you provide any details on that?

the race tightening with Reid pulling ahead, or maybe her accusation of Reid stealing the vote is just in keeping with her crazed, paranoid vision of the world.

38. Nevada is a hell-hole
If you think your local economy sucks, multiply it by three or four and you'll have an idea how bad it is out there. People are in total denial about how and why; it has nothing to do with their failure to diversify and invest when times were good, it's all about what Obama did or didn't do ten minutes ago. Reid gets caught in the crosshairs of anger and free-floating rage. It would almost shock me if he won.
