The Nevada Senate Debate: The Debacle in Nevada
I can't believe Reid couldn't do better than this against her--unfortunately I agree that it probably helps her in the end:

The Debacle in Nevada
First Read: "It was tough to watch last night's Harry Reid-vs.-Sharron Angle debate. It looked more like a condo board association meeting than a clash of political titans. 'Painful' doesn't even begin to describe last night's back-and-forth. And if both candidates didn't perform well, that only helps Angle. The reason: It's hard to paint your opponent as not ready for primetime if you don't come across looking much better than she did. Also, Reid never really buttonholed Angle on the issues. For example, he hit her for wanting to privatize Social Security -- but didn't take the extra step that that means subjecting retirement money to the stock market's ups and downs. And it was like this on issue after issue. Reid also slipped into 'Washington-speak' time and time again. Perhaps the worst moment for him: his shuffling around for notes for his closing statement."

2. It's hard to debate some of these whackadoos and here's why
I mean Biden only looked ok next to Sarah Palin, even though Biden is a master at the art of debate. The reason why - if he was too tough on Palin then people would claim he was 'bullying' on a woman. I think Coons used the same techniques against O'Donnell because she opened herself to some serious trouncing but Coons kept very subdued.

It's a lose-lose situation for the democrats. And yet the republicans would think nothing of attacking our women in a debate, but then again we actually run strong women for office like Clinton, Boxer, Murray and a host of other women who can hold their own in a serious debate.

3. He came across as some kind of nervous kid. But I distinctly heard him tie the SS
privatization to the stock market crash. In the end it was truly painful.

4. If we have to lose one senate seat.....
.....I think I would want Reid's seat to be the one. He has been a weak speaker, at best. We need a speaker that is solid at home so he will never be unseated like Daschle. Of course, I hope we lose none, but the media has all but given the republicans a 150 seat pick-up in the senate (yeah, that's sarcasm).

6. As much as I dislike Reid as Majority leader we certainly dont need some wacko
taking his place..Republicans dont need some one that is qualified for the Senate..They just need another body,a corporate puppet that will vote to take anything and everything away from the middle class.

5. Reid's awful.
Don't want him to lose to Angle, but I've never liked him as majority/minority leader.

7. Sadly, for once, First Read is right. He looked awful.

But given his appearances on TV, it should not be a surprise. He has always been weak. Surprising for a lawyer though.

8. The corporate media has jumped all over the one liner that
Angle delivered about Reid's wealth..I mean even our local news is replaying it over and over..and it seemed like every channel I watched had the same clip...never mind Angle is another wacko... the Repukes seem to be having wet dreams about this...As I said before I dont particularly think Reid is a great Senate leader but an Angle defeat is also defeating these damn Republican shills that grasp onto anything that can make their candidate look viable.

9. Almost every politician that goes to Washington becomes rich....
with a few exceptions.

That seems like a legitimate question to me?

investments that paid a very good return..before he became a Senator..That is just one of Karl Roves play book strategies..never mind the issues..attack attack..personal issues.....

10. How the F@#$ did this guy ever become our Senate "leader"?!?!
:grr:

I thought Tom Daschle was milquetoast. Jesus! He's a firebreather compared to this worthless wet sponge.
