1. I'm getting old too...
I seem to recall them saying exactly the same thing they are saying now... I could be wrong... but I'll check back here tomorrow to see if any young whippersnappers have come up with something different.

2. What I do remember is not being able to concentrate on anything
for the last two weeks. I think I lived on DU!

4. Me too!
And I didn't have a BlackBerry at that time, so I was glued to my computer at work, and at home! The drive home was all about progressive radio, but when they went to commercial, I started surfing the dial for any tid bit of news I could get! LOL!

Can you say JUNKIE? hahaha!

3. At this point, Obama was winning...

The media admitted as much. They also said the race was extremely close and Obama hadn't put away some key swing states. McCain was also just starting to focus on Pennsylvania and many wondered if it would work.

From what I remember, the tone was that Obama looked good, but McCain still had a good shot because the race was still extremely tight.

Here is a Gallup Poll from the 14th of October in 2008:

Obama led by 9 in that poll.

5. Thanks, DI!
I can't remember much leading up to it, but I remember election night as if it were yesterday. I stocked up on snacks and beverages thinking it would be a looooong night. But before I had finished my first Guinness, they declared Obama the winner! I was stunned! All I could think was it must have been an overwhelming victory for it to be called so early! I don't think it was past 8:30pm Pacific!

6. Well every since 2000 all I have heard every election cycle is D's were losing R's were ahead
and even if D's are elected they will never be in the majority.

7. Basically
that all the men would vote for McCain because he was a common, man of the people war hero, and all the women would vote for McCain because he had Palin as V.P., and women always voted for other women.
