Gillibrand Leads by Double-Digits
A new Public Policy Polling survey in New York finds Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) leads challenger Joe DioGuardi (R) by ten points in the U.S. Senate race, 50% to 40%.

Meanwhile, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) leads his re-election race against Jay Townsend (R) by a huge 59% to 37% margin.

1. Pres Obama cleared the field for her.
She was once a Blue Dog in the House, but since she was appointed to the Senate her voting record has taken a decidedly liberal bent. That plus her double-digit lead makes this a success story.

5. That was my concern initially and we certainly have no guarantee.
Let's just say so far so good.

7. I don't think so
I'm one of her constituents and my feeling is that she leaned - not really right but less left when she was in the house because of her specific district which was more conservative than say....Manhattan. I think we're seeing the true Kristin now which is fine - her job is to represent her constituents and she did so as both a Rep and a Senator.

2. Not really worried about NY. I am concerned about Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Illonois
we really need to win those or we are in trouble.

3. Much better than the Suervey USA poll, but too close for comfort.
I gave up worrying about CT just a couple days ago... let's not add a new one, hmmm?
