Republicans are like the boy who cried wolf
They complain and rant so much about everything the administration does, even something as benign as telling kids to stay in school, that their gripes can't be taken seriously. They should be ignored.

1. If the boy was also racist and hated women...
then I'd agree with you.

2. Actually we can see some of
this phenomenon being played out. Maybe we should encourage their insane rants rather than discourage them. I mean, no reasonable person could actually believe their shit, can they?

3. The problem is.....

we are surrounded more and more by unreasonable people, seemingly capable of believing anything.

I had a light go on the other day about why so many people will believe any crap they hear from Beck/Limbaugh etc.: They have very little real world experience by which to judge what they are hearing from media Wing-nuts, but Beck/Limbaugh make them feel smart and informed. Maybe this is obvious to others, but it was a revelation to me.

That being said, ranting idiots do alienate the reasonable. See the Palin Poisen article here on DU:

4. Oh yeah.
The true believers feel they are very well informed yet nothing could be further from the truth.

5. What is scary...
I heard someone put a number to them this morning. The claim is that there are 22 MILLION of them. That's a lot of ill-informed, ignorant craziness. Damn scary.
