Warren off and running as Obama adviser
http://thehill.com/business-a-lobbying/120391-elizabeth-warren-off-and-running-as-obama-adviser-

Elizabeth Warren has spent her first days as President Obama’s consumer financial adviser asking industry and other groups to partner with her on new regulations.

Warren, the Harvard law professor and outspoken champion of the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), has met with or reached out to dozens of lobbying groups, consumer advocates and others since she was named to her position on Friday.

On Wednesday, she stopped by a conference of the National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU), where she introduced herself and mentioned that she is a longtime member of a credit union.

“I know this is a time of great anxiety for everybody in financial services — we’re about to see a lot of changes,” Warren said in brief remarks. “I believe that if we work together we can make this a new day that works for families and works for credit providers ... I’m here, I hope, so that we can work in partnership.”

4. Heard her on NPR today.
Part of her brilliance is her almost forceful humility.

5. Now that's good news!
She'll get things done, like regulating the businesses that should have never been "deregulated".

10. nice try. You know it is against DU rules to call out posters by name
i'll PM their usernames to you, if you'd like.

But you had to have seen all the posts doubting whether Obama would hire her. Dont play dumb.

22. Not sure that would qualify as a "call out"

I understand your caution though. I was just curious what the details were. Because some were predicting he'd never nominate her, and technically they didn't.

Placed a bet that Obama would never appoint her, then, like a total chump, squelched on the bet.

12. I'm really looking forward to see what she proposes.
I just hope she doesn't find herself hamstrung by this Administration down the road if some of her proposals are deemed too "radical" against prevailing business interests. Obama did good in appointing her, I just hope he continues to back her when it really counts.

19. Yeah ...
Then she could have got to work ... sometime about the 3rd quarter of 2011. And then only if the democrats fought for her confirmation.

21. Just Wait Until After the November Elections
She's only an interim appointment - until after the elections when they'll officially appoint someone more favored by Wall Street.

25. If the admin were filled with such advisors such as this,
both it and the economy would not be in the pickle that both are now.

Good to see her in action now.
