Man Throws Tomatoes At Sarah Palin, Gets Arrested
First Posted: 12- 7-09 07:59 PM | Updated: 12- 7-09 08:04 PM

A man was arrested for allegedly throwing two tomatoes at Sarah Palin from the second floor balcony during a book signing event at the Mall of America in Minnesota, MyFoxTwinCities.com. reported.

Neither tomato came close hitting the former 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, but did hit a police officer in the face, the station reported.

The unidentified man may face charges for assaulting a police officer, according to the station.

6. Throwing things
(vegetables, fruit, fake blood, shoes etc.) at people is a childish form of violence. Even if the person being attacked is a dirt ball idiot.

Dan Quayle, I can think of no better candidate in 2012.

15. If the assailant dislikes Ex-Governor Palin he should vote for candidates
who oppose her bigotry rather than hurl things her direction.

Poor form by the tomato assailant.

21. Yep. And we don't want the Ex-Governor to become a martyr.
I'd love it if she stuck around politics long enough to destroy the Republican Party and discredit its base but not long enough to actually get anywhere.

19. The Mall of America "forbids firearms on it's property"
they have signs to that effect at every entrance (every since Minnesota passed it conceal/carry law). I'm sure the signs help a lot. :sarcasm:

20. It would have been a lot easier to get a gun into that place than a coloring book
They had Palin sitting in an area where if someone had a gun it would have been really easy for them to take a shot at her, but if you wanted to get in line like I did you had to be frisked and have all your bags searched. I wanted to get my coloring book autographed in crayon, but they had way too much security for me to get that coloring book to Sarah Palin. The security was not about protecting her safety, it was about protecting her from people like me who wanted to embarrass her.

17. I was there today, but I missed that
I went to the mall to see if I could get Symbolman's coloring book autographed but the security was insane and there was no way for me to get in line with the coloring book so I went outside and found some friends who were protesting across the street from the mall. We walked around the mall with our banner and a documentary film maker ran across the street, he worked for The Learning Channel (TLC) and they are working on a new series called "Mall Cops: Mall of America". He filmed us for a few minutes with our banner that said "Read our Lipstick: Stop the War" and I was holding my coloring book up for the camera.

Later we went to the Hilton up the street where Palin was holding a $5,000 a plate fundraiser and held our banner out to greet the wealthy Republicans as they arrived. I don't know if Palin saw us or not as I could not tell who was in each of the vehicles, but I sure hope she saw us.

23. What a waste of tomatos
Sarah Palin should not be complimented with the beauty of our dear tomato. Giving her any sort of attention is enough of a flaw.
