1. Many of them seem to believe they, not the Jews, are the "chosen people"

of the old testament. They seem to think that the entire thing was written for the US "christians" but only their specific type of "christians", not for the Hebrews.

4. I think it's very simple. They never grow up.

They're stuck in the American teenage phase. I have a teenager at home, so I recognize it. They don't want to be told what to do, but they want to tell everybody else what to do. Life is never "fair" to them, they always think they are the victims. All the religious stuff is just rationalization for their selfishness.
