Alan Grayson actually proves Gibbs' point on MSNBC

Grayson played right into the right wing media's hand. He's asked a leading question that inaccurately cites Congressman Ellison as calling for Gibbs' resignation

Gibb's comment was directed a specific group, Grayson expandd them to include all liberals.

He looked like a deer caught in the headlights when David Frum's comments are read prefaced by the notion that he would agree with them.

Then he turns around and defends the administration's accomplishments saying that Gibbs hasn't done a good job of explaning the significance of these achievements, including passing "health care for all Americans."

That was exactly Gibbs' frustration: The people who continue to diminish the President's achievements.

Grayson did call out the Republicans, but that was lost in his over-the-top attack on Gibbs, which also buried his point that there has been achievement.

1. Oh stop. Give it a rest. Ellison is merely modulating and grayson is clear as a bell.

Many, many voices are calling for Gibbs to step dowm. Many many people do not care for his tactics and at the very least as Rep grayson pointed out Gibbs has "Failed" at his job. Period.

of those who constantly criticize the administration's achievements as lame, weak, Republican-like and failed. His claim that Gibbs isn't doing an adequate job of communicating the achievements makes it clear that Gibbs has a right to be frustrated.

No one here has been able to offer me any evidence that anyone in the cable or tv media even said the things Gibbs claimed he hears all the time. He stated that he hears it, can not say where, or who said it. Close the Pentagon. Who is he talking about?
If what he said was true, he could show that it was true. But he can not. So he claims to have a cold. Poor Robbie. And the poor, underpraised President! How will they pull through?

At least you're asking for specifics about the CORRECT subjects of Gibbs' comments. There are a large number here on DU who will not even acknowledge that distinction.

As to your comments about the "poor, underpraised President", I assume your general attitude is that no one should receive any positive feedback for the work they do. Their paycheck should suffice, correct?

Conversely, as an example, why would anyone here have the right to complain that the President doesn't show enough emotion (and yes, I HAVE seen that complaint leveled at him on DU) to satisfy their need to show that he cares? From what I'm getting, he should keep his nose to the grindstone and just get his job done like the good hired grunt that some want him to be. Can't have it both ways.

If the number turned out to be higher than the number of those calling for his resignation/him being fired, would that prove Gibbs wrong?

Gibbs' comments gave Grayson another reason to get his mug on TV and complain. Sadly, he seems to enjoy complaining about his own party, which has made significant accomplishments, rather than the opposition who has done nothing but obstruct progress, make racist remarks, call the President a liar and compare him to Hilter.

and he kept claiming Gibbs insulted Obama's entire base when he only expressed frustration towards those on TV, radio, etc. He ALSO kept falsely claiming Emanuel called liberals "F'in Retards."

so it has to be about all of his listeners too so that he doesn't have to look at himself. Schultz's analytical skills leave something to be desired. He reminds me of the Gilda Radner character Rosanne Rosanna Danna. He mishears or misunderstands something that was said, rails about it for a day or two and then just goes, "Oops, never mind."

When Gibb's said professional left it's pretty obvious he meant it literally. People on the left who are paid to be political commentators, journalists, etc. It has nothing to do with Obama's base or anyone on this board who is not paid journalist, commentator, radio talk show host.
