"Contributions from the financial sector account for roughly 30 percent of all money collected by the campaign committee and leadership PAC of Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.), the bill’s chief sponsor in the Senate, the Center found -- the most among all senators. Dodd's home state of Connecticut is also home to many financial industry companies and workers."

Let's not beat around the bush. In my view, Dodd does not think Warren won't be confirmed. He does not want her to be confirmed. But of course, Dodd is careful not to directly come out against Warren, thus risking a backlash among progressive, so he makes stuff up.

Banks hate Warren. Banks love Dodd.

1. With all the holdups there have been on so many nominees, I think Dodd is being honest.
I still think she should be the nominee. But that doesn't mean he may not have a very real point, considering the way the opposition in this Senate has behaved.

2. There's a holdup on unemployment benefits
Yet Obama is fighting heroically for them, which I applaud. Let's extend that to other areas.

3. He is a shill for this particular industry
he has sold out. The fact that he is not supporting her whole heartedly speaks volumes.

6. Actually it looks like regular people on the left and the right like Warren.
So I don't think she'll have all that much trouble getting confirmed.
And if she does we'll know who opposed her and who we should get rid of.
