.... but they usually have the stream up before anything starts. I doubt they are carrying it. I'm sure there are press/media issues.

The only way the WH is able to broadcast is because the President told the Chinese he'd blow up the moon again (for REAL this time!) if they didn't let them broadcast. (har har)

61. lol, asked why he thought he was awarded the Nobel....
... and will it affect how he governs.

(He thinks it's an excellent question and it was)

Says he was surprised and honored, not sure he deserved it considering those who have won it before. All he can do is, with humility, accept the fact that the committe was inspired by the American People and their desire to change how we dealt with the world. They gave him the prize, but he was just a symbol, the award goes to the people (wink, wink, nudge nudge.) Says he knows there's a burden that he must now live up to.

Says that EVERYONE has an obligation to promote peace even though it's not always easy. The middle east has conflict that goes back a thousand years for example. As Commander in Chief, his first priority is to protect the American people. He is obliged to protect the US and to "root out" terrorist organizations who threaten the world. He knows he can never eliminate the threat, but can surpress it through dialogue and understanding. One person could detonate a bomb that could kill thousands and now, more than ever, it is important to maintain that dialogue. Hopes the US and China can work together to reduce conflicts.

We must keep in mind that when we use our military, we must be self reflective and not just using them because we are stronger than everyone else. We must act responsibly. Hopes China and the US can work together to reduce conflict.

64. lol, says he has never Tweeted....
... that his thumbs are too clumsy to type things on the phone.

(this was in response to a question about the Chinese firewall)

He thinks information should be shared freely and supports open internet use and non-censorship.

lol, he says he WISHES information didn't flow so freely "because then I wouldn't have to listen to people criticize me all the time" but he recognizes that because information is free, even those who disagree w/him because it makes our democracy stronger and makes HIM a better leader. FOrces him to reexamine what he does and helps him make sure he is doing the best job he can.

Talks about how his campaign was strengthened by the internet.

the down side of openness is that extremist, terrorists can use it to organize, but it's better to have openness.

72. In regard to the al qaeda in Pakistan....
.... they still have ties to cells in Afghanistan and it's important to stabalize that situation so things do not escalate.

Says it makes him very heavy-hearted to meet with the families of the fallen, but that the men and women fighting are willing to go. It is imporant to have UN forces become ready to take over so the US can pull most of its troops out.

We must go to the source, try and stop young men from becoming terrorists to begin with. Young people have no education or opportunities, they feel terrorism is their only opportunity. Wants to improve schools and agriculture so that people can have a greater sense of Hope.

That wont stop extremists, but it will shrink the pool of people they can get troops from and that will decrease the threat over time.
