When was the door opened to hate Obama? October 6th 2008
Edited on Wed Jun-30-10 10:21 PM by Laura PourMeADrink
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2008/10/in-fla-pali...
THEN, October 2008...

"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," Palin said.

"Boooo!" said the crowd.

"And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.

"Boooo!" the crowd repeated.

"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.

In a recent video clip from MSNBC, McCain asked a rally, "Who is the real Barack Obama?" In response to McCain's rhetorical question, a voice from the crowd can be clearly heard to shout in response, "Terrorist!"

NOW:
It makes me utterly sick to even post this....but It makes me utterly sick to think this human being, poised to possibly be the next VP could have fomented so much hate and started this sickening, crude, makes-you-want-to-puke ball rolling. It's not like he started a fake war, with non-existent WMDs, where thousands upon thousands died. He helped enact health care.

2. No, it wasn't. I'm sure the OPer is VERY concerned, though.

4. I know you didn't mean that - but it came across to me as totally snide? I am making a point
that Palin is dangerous AND she started all this that's happening today.

6. What???? What in the world are you saying? Why in the world
would I do anything to hurt him??? Are you serious???

I've been here since 2004 -- consistently, to a fault, promoting our cause!!

I am behind him 100%

I just saw on the news the posters with him as hitler and it made me sick. And it made me think how she caused it all. she started it all.

8. You are not telling the truth.
Lose the pic in your OP if you are behind him, for starters.

The posters who posted pics made you sick, so you decided to do the same thing? Your post makes me sick.

9. I can erase the pic a million times and unfortunately, it doesn't mean
that it doesn't exist out there. Blinders and censorship do not make it go away, unfortunately.

10. Yep. Obviously this is a place for censorship and blinders from what
is happening out there.

12. Ok, so why does that make the subject taboo? Why can't it be
like it used to be here? Where someone, anyone, raises a controversial point and people discussed it, without personal attacks and animosity.

There was a time when we would actually mobilize and talk about real concrete ideas about how we could expose someone, some group. We would all add ideas. We would all send emails. We would all write our congressmen. Blanket the media.

Even though, you say, we are all aware, are we to remain silent? Like this growing mass of hatred doesn't exist?

Are we who want to raise issues and find some hope in combating them supposed to be just bullied into silence and say, "WTF, there is no hope, if there's no support here"
