1. Just watched it and had no idea who the horse was who was
coming up on First Dude, but I stood up and started yelling my head off for that horse to pass First Dude - and he did it. Yeah!!!!

Sorry, what I was saying..
was..you have good instincts. The OP said it would give palins more exposure if their horse won and that's not good for America.

13. Maybe a dumb question..
but was the horse associated with the Palins? Or was the owner a friend/fan of theirs? Crazy coincidence?

Oh well, glad he quit, Faux News would be pissing all over themselves talking about "signs" from God, regarding the Palins. :puke:

14. 'Dizney's farm,
Double Diamond Farm of Ocala, Fla., also was the colt's breeder. Roger Brand, Double Diamond's vice president and general manager, confirmed in a phone interview that indeed First Dude was named in honor of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's husband, Todd.

What's more, First Dude was born to a 10-year-old mare named "Run Sarah Run," which Brand said Double Diamond acquired when she became available after a conditioned race at Churchill Downs. Brand explained that a conditioned race gives owners better chances for their horses to win, but comes with the risk of having to sell a horse for much less than it's worth. When Run Sarah Run came up for a $40,000 claim, they didn't pass up the chance. "We just happen to be Republicans, and we thought it would be cool," said Brand.

When Double Diamond bred Run Sarah Run, choosing a name for her foal was easy, and not only because of their fondness for the Palins. "He's huge, he's a big horse, and he's a total dude," explained Brand.'

16. Thanks for the info...
I find it hilarious that the horse quit, yet at the same time it makes me want to puke that someone named such beautiful, noble, animals after those two shitheads.

17. Not quite correct, to say horse 'quit.'
Ran an excellent race, led from the get-go, finally overcome by stronger guys.

I agree about name, tho.

18. That is usually what happens at the Belmont, it's such a long race
that leaders just can't finish in first....unless they're Secretariat :) .......and I can't wait for that movie to come out.

20. The poor horse didn't choose its name.
If it was the owner who did and the name was truly in imitation of "Tawd's appellation," then the owner deserved to lose. Losing and quitting are qualities of the Palin crew. The sad thing is that losing and quitting are among their better qualities.
******
And yes, I too am very happy that two other horses saved the day for us all!
