GOP pressuring BP - NOT to plug to leak - to damage Obama's presidency!
OK, so it is just a hypothesis. Would you be surprised if you found out it were true??

6. Yes. BP isn't doing itself any favors by not plugging the leak ASAP.
There is only so much mileage one can get out of "evil corporation conspiracies" before it starts to cross the threshold between reasonable suspicion to outright lunacy. I know we all love to hate on the big, evil oil company, and we do so with plenty of good reasons. But at a certain point, we have to put aside our standard emotional reactions to companies like BP and admit that it wouldn't make any sense for anyone to not want this leak plugged and plugged yesterday. I don't even think Republicans want to live in a world where the worst case scenario ends up playing out here with this catastrophe. I know BP doesn't want to live in a world where they can no longer afford to even exist as a company (and it may be too late for them all ready).

13. i opposed media liars 40 years ago...
just say it's exasperating watching the warpigs get away with it. In the newspaper tv guide, saturday the 'history' channel has a sunday evening show about Ho Chi Minh and the 'gulf of tonkin attack' incident (which, as you know, was a fabrication/conjob by cia to allow US to attack N Vietnam- a sham war which would then cost 58000 american lives and $trillions in dollar losses)

14. Don't get me started on hte History channel
Though i'm glad they took a break from their endless airing of Nazi factoids and biblical archaeology to say anything at all about Vietnam.

I wouldn't call Obama a "war pig" - He got stuck with two wars that an actual war pig cooked up, and sorry mate, but it's fucking stupid to expect the guy to just yank everything out and leave those two countries to fester and rot for the sake of political expediency.

15. Really now?
So the last year and a half of the GOP railing about "that socialist Obama" was just smoke and mirrors, was it?

17. in ju jitsu (sp) when your opponent pushes, you pull
the reactionary right is AT WAR with liberal democracy. For a precedent, checvk out the 'Weimer Republic'-the lib/dem government that was given job of running Germany after crushing reparations/defeat in WW1. The anti socialist/liberal/progressives formed the most powerful rightwing element of politics, and it openly warred with the weimer Republic leaders, who were trying to run the nation while paying vast reparations for WW1. You saw what happened. Hitler and nazis took advantage of mess to demand fascist response, and refute the paying of reparations etc. The 'allies' britain/france and usa etc FORCED the Weimer Republic to give all money to banks.....and they went broke during great depression (as did entire west)...the 'war' bailed out the capitalist system- though its cost has never been calculated to this day. Obama is a feint, a trick, to continue defrauding yall. They call him enemy like they called kerrey and clintoon their 'enemy...

And would cost the Republicans a LOT of southern votes.

Besides, it's the oil companies who lean on Republicans, not the other way around

23. If Big Oil stopped funding the Republicans and right-wingers in this country
to get them re-elected, the very day the checks stopped coming in, every Republican in government would denounce Big Oil from the highest mountain.

Money buys influence, pure and simple.

No money, no influence.

12. Although I'm sure they'd love to do that, BP wouldn't go along with it
BP is losing millions of dollars a day and have no clue what the cost of the cleanup will be, there's no way they'd pull something like that.

18. Magical Thinking At Work

Sometimes things are simply beyond control. Conspiracy theories are comforting tot a certain childlike mentality that the adults really can control things.

21. Hell no it wouldn't be surprising. Remember the hostages during Iran. Reagan
made a deal with Iran not to release the prisoners they were holding until after the election so they could brand
Carter. It worked. Don't put nothing past a republican. With republicans its party first country last.

22. and the $58 billion deficit...
Carter's last budget ran a $58 billion deficit, and the pigmedia HOWLED to the moon, for months, saying the 'taxen spend' liberal Carter was ruining western civilization....the news was front page for weekas, i recall, and it was obvious they were trying to get Carter out. Within a few years, the gopigs under regan moren doubled the natdebt (from $1 trillion to $2.6 trillion) and have since run it up to the 10trillion or so today. lying bastard media were and are terrorists (Carter still almost caught regan in regan's first election, despite total smear job by piggy media))

in relation to Vietnam. They will do anything to get elected.

Most republicans are in it for the money and not to serve the people.
