When will the Republicans learn? Kagan's 30 year old senior thesis.

Since Elena Kagan's senior thesis at Princeton, entitled "To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900-1933," was about the dreaded S word, Republicans have pounced on it as more "proof" that Kagan hates America.

Here's what the May 11 issue of Newsweek says:

"Imagine you're a right-wing think-tank opposition researcher tackling a Democratic president's latest Supreme Court nominee. You've just been handed her college thesis. Its title: To the Final Conflict: Socialism in New York City, 1900–1933. Or, put another way: Bullseye! Right? Sound the alarms. Glenn Beck, report to the Danger Chamber (or whatever it's called). But then—and this may not come as a shock to anyone familiar with the partisan blogosphere or cable news—maybe the total tonnage of TNT suggested by the readymade headline turns out to be something of a fizzle."

When will Republicans learn that dredging up these old college papers is useless? Remember Michelle Obama's senior thesis at Princeton? How did that work for ya? And Hillary Clinton's paper at Yale? Didn't stop Bill from winning re-election in 1996, now did it?

No wonder the polling has shifted in favor of the Democrats. Republicans continue to make asses out of themselves every day in their desperation...

They really scrape the bottom of the barrel, don't they? The idea that something you wrote 30 years ago when you were barely 21 and to which you never became a loyalist is something that will just pop out once you are on the SCOTUS is ridiculous. They are playing to the rabble...the majority of Americans reject that kind of thinking, which is my basic point. These dredging operations always fail...
