Arianna Huffington Suggests Elizabeth Warren As A Candidate for SCOTUS.
I love Elizabeth and she would be a great choice, but she is such a great communicator on camera that I would hate to lose her voice. I'd still rather see her as head of the (hopefully) coming Consumer Financial Protection Agency or as United States Senator (goodbye, Senator Softcore).

With John Paul Stevens announcing on Friday that he will be retiring from the Supreme Court this summer, there has been much speculation about who Obama might choose to replace him.

"I think the White House would like to do everything to avoid a fight. And I think they're very mistaken if they think they can avoid a fight," Arianna said On ABC's "This Week" on Sunday, as part of a roundtable with George Will, Sam Donaldson, and Cokie Roberts. "I think the president should nominate whoever he thinks is the best and forget this obsession with avoiding a fight because he won't be able to."

In addition to the names being bandied about as possible nominees, Arianna had another suggestion: Elizabeth Warren.

"I think Elizabeth Warren -- especially if we can clone her so she can also run the Consumer Protection Agency -- would be a great nominee. A Harvard Law professor, an expert on bankruptcy law, on many of the ways in which economic policies are impacting the middle class, exactly what the country needs right now, a compelling communicator. A great thing about John Paul Stevens was how persuasive he was, how he could move at least judge Kennedy and give us some of those 5-4 decisions which were so critical."

1. She's great and has been suggested for anything from, Senator from MA (2012 race)
to any financial position in the Obama administration. I suspect that she would be great in all these and SCJ, but agree with you her voice would be stronger in the Senate, heading the CPA, or replacing Geitner.

6. I would like to see her replace Geithner, Summers, or Rubin so long as she gets to...
physically kick their ass out of office on camera.

I also like Leah Ward Sears

Leah Ward Sears (born June 13, 1955) is an American jurist and former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the U.S. state of Georgia. Sears was the first African-American female Chief Justice in the United States.

15. Hell yes. Warren has more grey matter, reasoning, and common sense than the felonious five
in aggregate.

3. I adore this woman. I am delighted whenever I catch her on TV.
She even impresses Pat Buchanan (he said so on Morning Joe a few weeks ago and I nearly spit up my morning coffee!).

But maybe not on the Supreme Court. I want her in a watchdog role and talking very publicly and often, educating people on what is so WRONG with Wall St.

Bring her on! She takes no prisoners...

4. OMG that would be heaven!
She would be such an excellent choice--so much integrity and decency. And smart as hell, needless to say. She's so good at understanding how policy affects us regular people.

:loveya:

9. I would rather she replace Geithner
We need her understanding of the financial complexities at Treasury.
I wish we could have Sheldon Whitehouse on the Court. But we would lose a Senator
due to RI's GOP governor.

18. My question is, Can she be cloned to serve in several roles?
The more of her, the better. And talk about integrity.
