Huckabee is toast. Pawlenty is bland and weak. Blogger Palin will be trolling for book sales, a talk show, reality shows... Whatever. She's a joke.

It's Mittens.

After all they own us.

4. Maybe no one will show up to vote.
I think people are pretty disenchanted with Obama now. Those that are not will be by the time his first term is up, once Afghanistan takes it toll on our troops, our psyche and pocketbook.

And I for one shall enjoy it.

17. Is that all the GOP has to offer?

Mitt: Smarmy, asshole creep.

Palin: Idiot.

24. Whoever is the last man standing in the Repug primaries after everyone else washes out.
Just like 2008.

It's the same situation, the Repugs have no credible leadership but they will have primaries, which someone will win.

16. Mormons have made great strides
toward rehabilitating their image over the decades, but many mainstream Xian denominations still consider them a 'Xian cult.' If Mittens gets the nod, I hope that schism gets exploited for all its worth.

or a black Kenyan Muslim. Decision Decisions. Maybe they will just stay home.

9. I agree that is most likely. However, the jobs numbers will matter.
If the economy is still see as very weak, and if the unemployment is over 10% come Fall of 2011, I think it will be mittens without a doubt.

He will run solely on the economy, and say the Dems couldn't fix it.

If the economy is in the midst of a recovery, unemployment decreasing (and under 9%), mittens is a less obvious choice. It will be his nomination if he goes for it, but he may hang out if he knows he can't win.

11. I think it will be Palin over Mittens..
The Religous Right can't pull their heads outta their butts long enough to get over the word "mormon" and will only vote for a fellow "Christian" bible-thumper. Since Huck decided to let a cop killer out, he's now toast.. so Palin is waiting in the wings for her official crown from the Bible Voters.

The biggest issue that the GOP is going to be rallying against in '10 & '12 is going to be Healtchare, and Obama's "Government takeover" of it.

Mittens instituted something very similar in MA.. so he'll have a tough time in the debates trying to explain why it was OK for him to do it, but it's not OK for Obama to do the same thing.

Nope - Republicans will be searching for a Fiscal Conservative who leans biblishly right to run against Palin in the primaries... someone like Pawlenty, Jindahl, etc. Sanford woulda been another good choice until he "screwed" it up. Literally.

so is Mittens. I hope that if he is elected that I can go peacefully in my sleep. I hate both of them.

28. I am looking for the info on Kaufman and voting intimidation in 2008. Any ideas
I keep striking out. Seems to have been scrubbed

but it seems to me it was in NJ, and armed men checking voter IDs.

As Bush I's head political guy he was behind Willie Horton as well as hand picking the first Indian Gaming Commission. Since then he has been a "playa" in Indian gaming handling ops for the BFEE.

Mitt is the BFEE candidate.

I will cling to my hope that Mitt's proper-English, eating-with-a-fork style is too sissy for the modern pug party.

15. Three Way Race - But I have No Idea Who
Republicans, Democrats, and everyone else is mad as all hell right now. We're in a depression, but the entire government is on the couch watching TV - other than when they shovel money at Goldman Sachs.

Something interesting will happen. Hopefully interesting and *good*, but I wouldn't count on it...

18. The GOP will find someone else...
I'm not kidding.

They will offer up Thune or might even try to get Patraeus to run. Expect even a thinner Newt or a McCain-like Cheney.

Mitt is a Mormon... a former pro-choice/pro-gay/Massachusetts "liberal"... the Far Right Wing hates Mormons and anyone who ever muttered the words "I'm pro-choice..." at any time in their lives. They don't trust him and frankly, he runs a shitty campaign, even with oodles of money.

Palin won't run either...

Can't stand him, but he has very high approvals as governor. Maybe Romney/Pawlenty?
