How to pay for the Afghan War ... Easy!
Reportedly Hedge Funds, those guys who profited handsomely from our Super-Recession
w/ its Massive Layoffs, have a large chunk of their income taxed at discount rates
{Long Term Capital Gains topping out at 15%} thanks to the tax deductible Lobby
Lawyers. This is income which ordinarily would be taxed at ordinary income
{excuse the redundancy please} rates.

Why should these bonus baggers fly discount while the rest of us are breaking our backs
just to make ends meet? And even our unemployment gets taxed at ordinary income rates.

Remove the lobbyist loophole for the Hedge Funds and return them to appropriate levels
of taxation the rest of us pay, ordinary income.

Second, immediately remove the Bushie tax breaks for those making more than
a quarter million. These guys also flew discount while the rest of us had to
pay full fare {if not more} for the entire Bushie Bogus Baghdad Boondoggle.
Why continue this injustice? It just ain't fair.

2. I really don't want to see perpetual war being funded in any manner by the U.S.
It will still be the poor kids here who will go off to kill the poor somewhere else. How we fund the war won't change any of that. The last thing we need to do is to build a bigger U.S. war machine.

Fucking perpetual war is immoral and it sucks.

3. How far you think you'll get on that note w/ Al Qaeda?
They will carry on to the death

Do we want to give them room to plot the next 9/11?

7. That all depends on who wins the next Chairman of AlQaeda election
If it's Santa Claus, we'll probably be OK. But if it's the Easter Bunny.... well that son of a bitch is just crazy. :scared:

5. Bush Tax cuts expire 1/1/2010
So I think we can wait 33 days instead of opening up congressional debate.

8. When do the Reagan tax "cuts" expire?
Actually, I'd like to see the JFK tax "cuts" go too. But not before the loopholes are closed, of course.

9. I'd be more interested in a free trade battle than a tax-cut battle
Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 02:29 PM by AllentownJake
but seeing that Reagan won on both and both parties support his status quo, not much I can do.

6. Draft everyone who works for a hedge fund and send their pampered asses over there
And yes Chelsea, that means you. Maybe that would give her mom a little incentive to end this shit?
