It's refreshing, to say that least.

3. Shouldn't all politicians be negotiable?
Isn't that quite literally the point?

6. so why not start with single-coverage - and fall back to the PO if necessary
is that what happened? Obviously not.

14. Because single payer was not a viable starting point.
It has to be credible, and there were never a credible amount of votes for it. We all knew that. We hardly had 50+ for the public option and ultimately not enough to break a filibuster for it.

15. the PO was never a starting point - it was abandoned before ever considered
there seems to be a complete lack of negotiating skills

4. The President doesn't give up!? Where have you been for the last year? He's caved in
left and right on virtually everything! His own health care proposal...you know what? Never mind.

5. I never gave up. I'm hoping my health care plan or new
options stay about as good and affordable as I have now. I do know that with the status quo, that was not going to be the case.
This year the cost to my employer went up and they ate the increase. I don't expect them to be able to do that again.
The "leave my health care alone" crowd doesn't get it. It's not being left alone and we can't afford to wait till it gets so bad that even those idiots figure it out.

10. He wins, but the people don't ... there have been backroom deals with Big Pharma

and The Insurance Cartel. High intelligence doesn't necessarily equate to a sound moral compass. For example, didn't the BANKSTERS fully recover after we bailed them out with our tax dollars? Do they NOW give a damn about US, the struggling working and middle classes? Hell NO! But Wall Street is doing just fine ... and that's all that matters to the corporate pigs ... to include bought off politicians.

9. That makes one of us. Without a truly robust Public Option, or better, Single Payer ...
All President Obama's Administration is accomplishing are billions upon billions of dollars mandated to The Insurance Cartel and Big Pharma.

The CORPORATE PIGS are running toward the MONEY TROUGH if we don't pass a bill with either one of the two criteria above. :puke:

12. It's very dangerous to trust any ONE politician.
No matter how affable and gregarious SOME may come off on TV, I don't trust any politician. You'd be wise to consider following suit?
