Obama: "I'm not sure we can close the gap in our disagreements, and if we cant ...."
"Then I suspect Harry, Nancy, Mitch and John are gonna have a lot of arguments about procedure..."

In other words...... LET THE RECONCILIATION BEGIN!!!!

(and yes, I meant this to be an OP, I'm not lost lol)

7. Dems are going to try to ram this through and use the success of the stimulus
and pimp out the possible success of this health care plan and win the seats. And they will show the REpubs as the party of No, hypocrisy, and lies.

10. I was soooooo happy to hear that!
It's like he finally gets it. These people aren't gonna play ball. So the Dems will just have to proceed without 'em.

11. This ENTIRE day...
Edited on Thu Feb-25-10 08:51 PM by Clio the Leo
... was a set up to allow them to build some political capital in order to do reconciliation. That was the WHOLE point. It would have been nice if the Dems and GOP could have found something to agree on, but that wasn't really what all of this was about.

He got it LONG before a lot of us did.

13. Is it true than when you go through reconcilliation the bill can't be a permanent one but has
to have an end date? Like tax cuts for the rich.
