Some things are just not easy to reconcile.
Public wants a public option but it less than enthusiastic about the cost of a new entitlement. Go figure.

Seems to me now...at the end of the day...that there is populist appeal for industry regulation with teeth. Step two has to be a recognition that healthcare costs continue to rise unabated and that is the underlying issue. If you figure out how to push the cost of service down premiums "ought" to follow (at last in theory). Third step has to be a public option for those who fall through the cracks.

I honestly think that is the only way forward.

1. The public option isn't a new entitlement
It actually lowers the entitlements in the health care bill.

2. Plus, people will be paying for it
It's not it's going to be totally subsidized by the government. Of course, you can't count on the "liberal media" to mention this.
